The association – Association des musées de la Riviera

The Association of Museums of the Vaud Riviera (AMRV) aims to bring together the region’s museums in order to enhance their visibility and cultural impact.

It encourages collaboration between museums, promotes networking and supports the development of joint projects. The AMRV also works to promote cultural provision to all sections of the public, both residents and visitors, by facilitating access to exhibitions, events and activities.

It also organises three major annual events – PaKOMUZé, Museum Night and Family Days at the Museum – which are key highlights of the region’s cultural calendar and invite everyone to discover the museums in original and enjoyable ways. In this way, the AMRV helps to promote the rich heritage and artistic life of the Vaud Riviera and to make museums vibrant, open and accessible to all.

Our history

1998

Establishment of the AMRV On 2 February, representatives from ten institutions adopted the articles of association of the Association of Museums of the Vaud Riviera at the Swiss Museum of Games.

2000

First Museum Night The AMRV is organising the first edition of this event, which is set to become a major fixture in the cultural calendar of the Riviera.

2001

Family days out at museums The first weekend dedicated to exploring museums as a family.

2006 to 2008

New Articles of Association The association has updated its Articles of Association and now comprises nine member organisations.

2009 to 2012

2010

The AMRV is expanding Le Corbusier’s ‘Le Lac’ Villa joins the network.

2012 to 2018

2017

The AMRV continues to expand New articles of association have been adopted. Notably, Le Nest has joined the network.

2019 to 2021

An exceptional year The COVID-19 pandemic has led to the temporary closure of museums and the cancellation of Museum Night and the ‘Family at the Museums’ weekend.
